A Puja to Sri Jagannatha
The Lord of the Universes

Presented by Jagannatha Prakasa (John of AllFaith) with inspiration from His Holiness Swami Satyananda

Sri Balabhadra, Srimati Subhadra, Sri Sri Jagannatha
The Trimurti

Om! jagamohana-pari-munda yau!

May I bow before the feet of Sri Jagannatha in the Jagamohana kirtana hall.

It is said that Sri Jagannatha is the Primeval God, Lord Vishnu Himself. He is the combined eternally sublime threefold Personality of Godhead, the Trimurti. In whichever form (or formless) way one worships the Ek Devata {the One God), all worship goes ultimately to this Divine Source.

In India there are four holy mandirs (temples) that are more Sacred than all others. The fourth of these is Temple Jagannatha, Sri Jagannatha Puri dham. Of the four holiest of all temples it is this mandir that rules the fourth and present age of Kali Yuga. Who would not wish to worship the Divine Personality of Godhead, Lord of Kali Yuga?

What follows is a puja or worship method that I often employ. I originally received it from Swami Satyananda Sarasvati in a slightly different form. While it is possible to "rush through" this puja in ten minutes or so, it is recommended that one spend at least an hour on it in order to savor its many delicacies and worship the Lord of the Universe from the heart. Feel free to customize it in any way which is conducive to your own spiritual Path.

Om Namah Vasudevaya!
Om Tat Sat!
