This is a bit different from what I usually offer however the following video study from Chabad of Summerlin is very interesting, both from a Jewish perspective and from a prophetic point of view.
Those familiar with my writings will be somewhat acquainted with my basic prophetic interpretations of current events. For the sake of brevity I'm not going to get into them too much here although as you read my comments most of my related views will become clear enough I suppose. I will include links throughout this page for further study. As always, if you have comments or questions I invite you to contact me. This series of videos is very interesting on a few different levels. Enjoy.
In Judaism as in Christianity there is a lot of debate concerning the coming of Messiah and End Time events. Many people in both religions are unaware of the amount of Jewish interpretation and debate on this topic. The Talmud speaks of the coming of a man "as cruel as Haman" (referenced from the Book of Esther and our Purim traditions) who will rise up against the Jewish people shortly before the coming of Melech HaMashiach ben David:Sanhedrin Folio 97a: ...Thus hath R. Johanan said: in the generation when the son of David [i.e., Messiah] will come, scholars will be few in number, and as for the rest, their eyes will fail through sorrow and grief. Multitudes of trouble and evil decrees will be promulgated anew, each new evil coming with haste before the other has ended.'
Sanhedrin 97b: ... Rab said: All the predestined dates [for redemption] have passed, and the matter [now] depends only on repentance and good deeds...
R. Eliezer said: if Israel repent, they will be redeemed; if not, they will not be redeemed.
R. Joshua said to him, if they do not repent, will they not be redeemed! [i.e. not so] But the Holy One, blessed be He, will set up a king over them, whose decrees shall be as cruel as Haman's, whereby Israel shall engage in repentance, and he will thus bring them back to the right path.
It is my considered opinion after extensive research on this subject, as taught by many religions including our own, spanning a great many years, that, desperate for the promised Redemption and filled with doubt and fear due in large part to assimilation, because of a lack of emunah (i.e. active faith and trust in HaShem alone), some "end time" Jews, both secular and religious, especially in the West, are going to accept this later day Haman as Melech HaMashiach, the universal master of righteousness and peace. These largely Western and non-traditional (i.e. non-Orthodox) Jews are going to join forces with those turning against the Jews at that time due to their loyalty to this man.
The parallels to certain Christian and Muslim prophecies are obvious and need not be discussed here beyond noting that both usurp many teachings that were originally ours. Throughout history this has been done. We further know that even such learned teachers as Rabbi Akiva have in the past been deceived by false messiahs. It is not so difficult to think that the same could happen again today. There is no question that our emunah and understanding are not as strong as they used to be, neither is our deveikut (our "clinging to G-d"). Our rampant factionalism is stifling us, especially considering warnings such as the following by Rebbe Nachman:... Just before Mashiach comes, there will be a flood of atheism - not a literal flood of water but one of strange thoughts that will cover all the "high mountains" even in the land of Israel, which was not affected by Noah's flood. The rains will teem down with such force that even the "mountains of Israel " will be drenched - even the hearts of the pure will be affected.
Wisdom and sophistication will be of no avail. The only ones who will hold firm are the simple Jews who recite Psalms simply and sincerely. That is why, when the Mashiach comes, they will be the ones who place the royal crown on his head.

But how and why? We have the prophecies, most are clear. We know the Messianic requirements and we know they remain unfulfilled! We know human nature and if we are honest, we see how we are all going astray. Our people are making the same errors of the first centuries BCE and CE. Our infighting and factionalism are destroying Jewish unity like never before. We were warned, but we are ignoring the truth as it unfolds before our very eyes!Great atheism is coming to the world as a test from on high. The world's many sins are causing a terrible lack of faith. Happy is the person who stays firm in his faith in these times. The fact that I am predicting this will not prevent the increase of Godlessness and confusion. Long ago Daniel and others made it known that this would happen in the days before the Mashiach. "Many will purify themselves and be refined, and make themselves shining white. But the wicked will do evil. and only the wise shall understand" (Daniel 12:10 ).

This is all happening today. How can we not recognize the times we are living in? Surely it is no coincidence that during the late 1800's when the Zionists began developing plans for the restoration of the Jewish Nation the divisive Jewish movements began to appear and divide us! Before this most of us were simply Rabbinic Jews. Some were Observant, some were not. Today we are Orthodox, Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist, Jewish Renewal, and so on. Some await HaMashiach the man as the prophets foresaw, others await a shift in universal consciousness which they believe will result in a sort of mass "messianic consciousness." The timing of our growing dissension is surely not a coincidence! The rise of the Jewish movements and of Jewish sectarianism is surely a test as foretold by Rebbe Nachman of Breslov and others before the creation these Jewish events. Will we unite as Klal Y'israel or will we destroy ourselves through infighting? As Golda Meir said, "You want to destroy the Jews? Just leave us alone and we'll destroy ourselves."
We are failing this test.
As for the Messiah, Rambam gives us an important hint:If a king will arise from the House of David, who, like David his ancestor, delves deeply into the study of the Torah and engages in the mitzvos as prescribed by the Written Law and the Oral Law; if he will compel all of Israel to walk in [the way of the Torah] and repair the breaches [in its observance]; and if he will fight the wars of G-d; – we may, with assurance, consider him Mashiach.The period in which some of our people may well be deceived by 'the one as cruel as Haman' and accept him as HaMashiach would probably occur between these two lines. I believe this Haman-like despot will appear to be the Messiah on the surface but the deceived masses will make their judgements prematurely. This eventuality is arguably complicated even more by the plans of the Temple Institute to build the Beit HaMikdash before the coming of HaMashiach, not that I am questioning their pious intentions of course.
If he succeeds in the above, defeats all the nations around him, builds the [Beis Ha]Mikdash [i.e. the Jerusalem Temple] on its site, and gathers in the dispersed remnant of Israel, he is definitely the Mashiach.
As the following Chabad video presentation continues the rabbi, unwittingly no doubt, explains exactly how this deception may happen, in terms that are almost identical to what I've been saying for years! This is why I'm posting this. Its a great illustration. I mean NO disrespect to this rabbi nor to put words into his mouth. Surely he would reject my opinion of the implications of his teachings but probably not my overall points. I have written and sent this link to him for comment but never received a reply.
Several people have told me that while my views/interpretations sound biblical and logical, Jewish leaders would never again accept a false messiah. Such a claim is baseless. A large percentage of Chabadniks were certain that Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson of blessed and holy memory was HaMashiach. Even though he died on June 12, 1994 without meeting the requirements, some few still believe he will return from the dead and rule as King Messiah. Obviously the Rebbe was a great tzadik and no offense is intended with this example. The point is, the possibility of embracing a false Messiah is always with us should an extremely charismatic figure arise. Certainly no one would accept "the man like Haman," if they realized who he was, but again, even Rabbi Akiva and many pious Chabadniks was mistaken! There are many of us who so desperately want the Messiah to come and the vindication he will bring that they may well be deceived by their sincere, godly desires. This possibility can never be discounted.
The Ranbach, our Rebbe of Der Alte Weg Chassidus, discusses how our desires can easily lead us astray in his Robeson Postulate. It is likely that sincere people of all religions will be deceived by the future Haman-like despot. We must all be very cautious.
These videos unintentionally demonstrate how such a leader will be able to deceive the people of the world. And it will all seem harmonious with the Torah to the Jews, to the New Testament to the Christians, to al Qur'an to Islam, and so on. When things get to this point we can have assurance that Mashiach ben Yosef is near! Just hold on onto Torah with emunah and deveikut Once he arises, Melech HaMashiach ben David will not be long in coming. Then:The only ones who will hold firm are the simple Jews who recite Psalms simply and sincerely. That is why, when the Mashiach comes, they will be the ones who place the royal crown on his head.

To be very clear about this, were we to speak with the Chabad rabbi giving this presentation he would certainly not agree with several of my comments. He is elucidating on the coming of the one true Mashiach. I am extrapolating on his words because I believe there is an even more critical point to made in his dissertation, NOT to disagree with him. NO OFFENSE nor slight is intended to this knowledgable rabbi. I am encouraging you to read between the lines for a greater truth in his words.
Watch each of the following short videos and then consider my points on what was shared. I'll keep my comments brief. My comments will be listed below the videos using the time of each comment as a guide. Each video is 8 to 9 minutes long.
Note that Parasha 14: Va'era ("I appeared") is from Torah portion Sh'mot (Exodus) 6:2 - 9:35. The following teaching occurred during this Torah study and is related to those verses:
Comments: The rabbi is referring to this verse when he speaks about Moshe not wanting to obey at first:Exodus 4:13 But he said, "I beseech You, O Lord, send now [Your message] with whom You would send."
This is a peculiar verse that seems to stand contextually alone. One can almost sense HaShem placing these words into Moshe's mouth. The student in the video objects that surely Moshe didn't realize he was speaking of Mashiach, but note the rabbi's certainty, whether he did or didn't, he did! HaShem wanted this in His Torah for a reason.
Note how later HaShem appoints Aaron and tells Moshe that he (Moshe) will be as Adonai and Aaron will be your prophet (Exodus 7:1). This is related.
In my study What The Messiah Must Accomplish I stress the importance Mashiach will place on Torah learning and observance. This is what the rabbi is saying at 3:36. Torah was given to Moshe and this is the power of HaShem that Mashiach will wield.
His discussion about Torah and Moshe continues to 4:30 where he explains that Moshe is the power that drives Mashiach... which perhaps explains why the Nicean Church so quickly outlawed Torah and its observance. That's where the power is! To clarify this point briefly, Tikkuney Zohar teaches that Mah she'hayah hu she'yihiyeh (i.e. "That which was is what will be") from Ecclesiastes 1:9 is an acrostic of Mah She'hayah Hu which is MoSheH or Moses. Mashiach then is likened to the one who lead Israel out of Egypt (bondage) to the Promised Land (freedom). Through Moshe the Torah was revealed and though Mashiach it will be written onto everyone's heart as we are lead from the Olam Hezeh (the world as it is) to the Olam Haba (the Messianic age to come). This is the rabbi's point and it is completely valid and important to understand. HaMashiach will not lead us out of bondage and then abandon us for 2000 plus years! No, like Moshe he will bring us to the Promised Land of the Olam Haba. Unlike Moshe, he will enter the Land with us.
Around 6:50 the rabbi goes into Moses growing up in Egypt and thereafter contrast that with Mashiach at the gates of Rome, which is where this study gets very interesting in my opinion.
At 7:29 the rabbi relates the midrash about how Moshe got his speech impediment.
Comments: Here is the Talmud's account (Babylonian Talmud: Tractate Sanhedrin Folio 98a) referenced at 1:56. Its a different translation than then one used in the video:R. Joshua b. Levi met Elijah standing by the entrance of R. Simeon b. Yohai's tomb. He asked him: 'Have I a portion in the world to come?' He replied, 'if this Master desires it.'The point here is the question, why is Mashiach sitting at the gates of Rome? Why is he not in Yerushalayim? One would expect Mashiach to come from the Holy City.
39 R. Joshua b. Levi said, 'I saw two, but heard the voice of a third.'
40 He then asked him, 'When will the Messiah come?' 'Go and ask him himself,' was his reply. 'Where is he sitting?' 'At the gates of Rome.'
41 And by what sign may I recognise him?' 'He is sitting among the poor lepers: all of them untied [them]
42 all at once, and rebandage them together,
43 whereas he unties and rebandages each separately, [before treating the next], thinking, should I be wanted, [it being time for my appearance as the Messiah] I must not be delayed [through having to bandage a number of sores]. 'So he went to him and greeted him, saying, 'peace upon thee, Master and Teacher.' 'peace upon thee, O son of Levi,' he replied. 'When wilt thou come Master?' asked he, 'Today', was his answer. On his returning to Elijah, the latter enquired, 'What did he say to thee?' 'peace Upon thee, O son of Levi,' he answered. Thereupon he [Elijah] observed, 'He thereby assured thee and thy father of [a portion in] the world to come.' 'He spoke falsely to me,' he rejoined, 'stating that he would come today, but has not.' He [Elijah] answered him, 'This is what he said to thee, Today, if ye will hear his voice.'
44 The disciples of R. Jose b. Kisma asked him, 'When will the Messiah come?' He answered, 'I fear lest ye demand a sign of me [that my answer is correct].' They assured him, 'We will demand no sign of you.' So he answered them, 'When this gate
45 falls down, is rebuilt, falls again, and is again rebuilt, and then falls a third time, before it can be rebuilt the son of David will come.' They said to him, 'Master, give us a sign.' He protested, 'Did ye not assure me that ye would not demand a sign?' They replied, 'Even so, [we desire one].' He said to them. 'if so, let the waters of the grotto of Paneas turn into blood;' and they turned into blood. When he lay dying he said to them, 'place my coffin deep [in the earth],
The rabbi says (6:02) that Mashiach may either come from Rome or he will at least be in Rome at this point. This will give him intimate knowledge of how Roman society works, even as Moshe "came from or out of Egypt" and knew Egypt from the inside.
Now (6:20) he begins delineating the Holy Bloodline through which Mashiach must come.
Mashiach comes through David. David comes through Ruth. Ruth was a convert to Judaism. She was a Moabite (from Moab). Remember where they come from?
Abraham's cousin Lot fled Sodom and Gomorrah as the angels were destroying it (for violating the hospitality laws). Lot's wife 'looked back' and died (turned to salt!). Lot and his two daughters escaped into the hills. Thinking they were the last people on earth after the devastation the sisters tricked Lot into impregnating them. The older of the two gave birth to a son and named him Moab (Genesis 19:37). Ruth descended through this line and David from there. Listen to the rabbi's description of why this is important!
The comment that begins at the very end of this video continues in the next and is pretty interesting.
Comments: So... he asks about the "gates of Rome" (home of the Catholic Church).
Catch that at :33? the Rabbi says, Mashiach is not at the gate because they are serving God (as suggested by the questioner) but "he is there at the point where they are destroying Jerusalem!"
What will Mashiach be doing in Rome at that point according to the our Talmud passage? He will be binding the wounds of the injured! We know that the nations will come to voluntarily accept the Messiah. His mercy towards them is demonstrated here.
Comments: At :34 the rabbi begins again now that the conversations are done. In Hilchos Melech HaMashiach we learn of the Jewish identifiers of the generation in which Mashiach will come, as cited above. This is what the rabbi is explaining here. As these things begin to take place many will jump to the conclusion that the man accomplishing them must be the Messiah. Note what Rambam says. Is he giving us a hint by dividing these two conditions? I believe he is:The real Mashiach must fulfil BOTH of the these conditions. The sages identify two ways in which the true Messiah might come and take up his reign. He will come either:
If a king will arise from the House of David who delves deeply into the study of the Torah and, like David his ancestor, observes its mitzvos as prescribed by the Written Law and the Oral Law; if he will compel all of Israel to walk in [the way of the Torah] and repair the breaches [in its observance]; and if he will fight the wars of G-d; - we may, with assurance, consider him Mashiach.
If he succeeds in the above, builds the Beit HaMikdash on its site [i.e. the Third Jerusalem Temple on the Holy Mount], and gathers in the dispersed remnant of Israel, he is definitely the Mashiach. He will then perfect the entire world, [motivating all the nations] to serve G-d together, as it is written [Zephaniah, 3:9], "I will make the peoples pure of speech so that they will all call upon the Name of G-d and serve Him with one purpose."

In such a generation Messiah will come. Sadly it seems certain that Israel is not going to meet the first three conditions. These are both promises and somber warnings. HaMashiach has his tasks and we have ours, for better or for worse.
- if Israel repents for a single day;
- if Israel observes a single Shabbat properly;
- if Israel observes two Shabbatot in a row properly;
OR he will come
- in a generation that is totally innocent or totally guilty;
- in a generation that loses hope;
- in a generation where children are totally disrespectful towards their parents and elders
At 1:25 the rabbi says Mashiach is coming from Egypt and from Rome.
2:10 When Mashiach is sitting at the gates of Rome it means that Rome is falling apart. The end of Rome builds up Mashiach. Exactly as as Prophet Daniel indicates.
3:00 According to the Christian prophecies (which of course we do not accept as Jews but which are nonetheless interesting) we read from John the Apostle that the "Laodicean Church" of the End Times (aka the Nicolaitan heresy) will be "vomited out" (Revelation 3:16) of God's equation. Before that, the original Jewish sect is shown as abandoning Judaism (i.e. its "first love" Revelation 2:4,19) and merging with Roman Paganism. "The Mother Church" is headquartered in Roma. See this connection? Again, we don't base our understandings on Christian prophecies, but what John says here is in basic agreement with the Talmud and may explain the growing interest among sincere Christians in Judaism.
"Moshe and Mashiach both have the same task." Both will deliver the people from bondage (i.e. from bondage in Mitzrayim or Egypt and from the bondage of Roma or Chrislam: End Time false religion) to freedom and enlightenment. Chrislam/ˈkrɪslɑːm/, is a pejorative but possibly prophetic term coined by William Lane Craig for what is "neither Christianity nor Islam" but a blending of both. It refers to the growing interfaith relationship between some Christians and Islam. It does appear that Pope Francis, the Presbyterian Church USA, the Quakers (i.e. Religious Society of friends) and several other Christian groups are seeking a union with Islamic State and Islamic religion and politics. For example see here. This move is significantly adding to the current dangerous rise in antisemitism and global resolutions against the Jewish Nation.
3:46 The Rabbi brings up another Talmudic source that says Mashiach will be born in an Arab house (i.e. among the Muslims). This, he says, raises the question of what will be the final 'great kingdom' when Mashiach comes? Based on these passages he concludes this will be those powers ruled by Christianity (the 'gates of Rome') and Islam. Given the rising tide of Islamic Jihadism and Pope Francis' recent conciliatory comments and actions towards Islam, a formal blending of these religious hierarchies, or least a strong covenant between them (such as the Reichskonkordat between the Church of the Nazis), is looking increasingly plausible. For those who place credence in the prophecies of Malachy (1094 – 2 November 1148) this is especially interesting as he seems be saying that the reign of the popes will cease with Pope Francis.In persecutione extrema S.R.E. sedebit Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus: quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & Judex tremêdus judicabit populum suum. Finis.As it now is! In other words one might say that Mashiach will come before the question is decided either way.
Translation: In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills [i.e. Roma] will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End.

7:5 Here is the cited verse. Taken as written it does suggest what he is saying:Hosea 1:11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
In our Jewish Bibles this verse is found at:Hosea 2:2 And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint for themselves one head, and they shall go up from the land, for great is the day of Jezreel.Of this verse Rashi notes:one head: David their king.Note also that it says the children of Judah and the children of Israel (i.e. Judah/Benjamin AND the Ten Divorced Houses: II Kings 17:18). HaMashiach is going to restore the 10 Lost Houses of Israel according to biblical prophecies. Its one of the signs we are waiting to see fulfilled (Isaiah 11:11-12; Jeremiah 3:6-18; Hosea 1-3; Amos 9:8-10; Obadia 15-21; Micah 2:12-13; 5:3-15; Zechariah 8:13; 9 & 10; Ezekiel 34-37). There is now a growing number of Christians claiming to be the Lost Ten Houses. This inaccurate claim is sometimes referred to as British Israelism, the Hebraic Roots movements, etc. Perhaps this Haman-like despot will claim to restore these people to Judah (the Jews) and use them to attack Israel(?). Recall that Ephraim has been "divorced" and scattered among the nations (Jeremiah 3:8). This agrees with Zechariah 8:20-23 and this rabbi's presentation.
for great is the day of Jezreel: The gathering of their sowing.
The implications are many as I'm sure you can understand.
7:24 So Mashiach will not start out in Israel according to the Rabbi's expectations.
8:38: Here the following verses are quoted showing that Mashiach will not be an incarnation of God as Nicene Christians believe, but rather he will be one of our Jewish human brothers:Song of Solomon 8:1 O that thou wet as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised.
8:2 I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, who would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.
The Rabbi now explains that HaMashiach and his talmidim are being brought from among the nations back to Israel. This is very important to remember.
9:25 He begins to discus a 2000 year old midrash (written well before the birth of Muhammad and the rise of Islam) that speaks of the Arabs ruling the world. This was unthinkable at the time. The Arabs at that time were just chaotic pagan worshipers of the 360 gods of Mecca. They were at each other's throats too much to ever unite in conquest of others. Now of course they have merged their gods into Hubal-Sin in imitation of the God of Israel and they are on move worldwide.
The teacher explains that one united Arab nation (i.e. the United Ummah of Islam) will rule all and the individual Arab nations will be fighting together. This Muslim leader, Imam Mahdi, must defeat or unite with many Muslim enemies, including Shiite Iran, to establish his reign and fulfill this and various Muslim prophecies.
Comments: As I said at the outset, this discussion is going on at a Chabad center. Chabad deserves the respect and appreciation of the entire Jewish world for their amazing blessings to us all. Under the leadership of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson of righteous memory (April 5, 1902 - June 12, 1994), the seventh leader in the Chabad-Lubavitch dynasty, they have arisen as one of the brightest stars in modern Jewish history. Rebbe Schneerson (at’l) is who the Rabbi is speaking of as he cites these passages. This is significant because many of Rebbe Schneerson's (at’l) followers still believe he is the Mashiach, even though he has passed away without meeting the requirements. Because of this, many Jews who who are involved with Chabad-Lubavitch have re-examined the Torah for evidence that a tzaddik of such unprecedented merit and holiness as the Lubavitcher Rebbe might actually return from the dead to complete the Messianic prophecies! This has some obviously disturbing implications concerning a different Jewish teacher who died and whose followers continue to await his "second coming." That this is what the Rabbi is referring to is clear, beginning at 1:05.
Note that the Lubavitcher Rebbe was convinced that Mashiach would establish the kingdom of God on earth and utterly annihilate the Ummah of Islam. He believed this would happen 'shortly' but we continue to wait. Since his passing the Ummah has become much stronger and now threatens the entire planet like never before. Whoever HaMashiach is/will be we desire him NOW! And yet, as one studies the prophecies concerning Mashiach ben Yosef it appears that things will be getting much worst before he comes -- unless the Jewish people willingly commit themselves to teshuvah which sadly does not seem likely.
1:57 Here the rabbi cites the midrash as saying HaMashiach is going to stand on the top of the Beit HaMikdash and make this proclamation, "Be humble and fear not."
Now... here is where we get into why I am sharing this lecture. Listen to the Rabbi's explanation of how this prophecy will come to pass. There is a serious problem for the Jews here!
According to the Scriptures as well as a lot of Jewish tradition only HaMashiach can rebuilt the Third Beit HaMikdash. So... how is Mashiach going to stand on a building he has not yet caused to be built? The answer may be found in Rabbi Glick and the Temple Institute. Rabbi Glick you may recall recently miraculously survived what should have been a fatal assassination attempt due to his efforts to rebuild the Temple.
201: The traditional opinion is that HaMashiach must build Beit HaMikdash (or order its construction). "So it makes no sense" and so he offers his alternative...
2:31 The Torah House in Babylon could be referenced? This would support the idea of Mashiach coming from "outside" of Israel, from Babylon. Remember that many Jews including many great scholars remained in Babylon, even as many Jews including great scholars are choosing to remain in the United States today. So HaMashiach will from outside Israel.
Our Rebbe Nachman of Breslov founded Breslov Chassidus (hence is not part of Chabad) and he made this interesting comment about the origins of HaMashiach:As to what will become of me, I have no idea. But this much I have achieved with the Almighty: the Mashiach will be one of my offspring.Now, as you have probably figured out, I believe this Rabbi (or rather his beliefs in this matter) is UNKNOWINGLY setting the stage for how and why some/many Jews are going to be deceived into accepting the coming despot who is as "cruel as Haman" as HaMashiach. Consider:

5:8 Your hand shall be raised above your oppressors, and all your enemies shall be destroyed.
Assyria was the major Eastern Mesopotamian Semitic kingdom and empire that defeated the Semitic Northern Kingdom of Israel. After that conquest the Ten Houses of Israel came to known as the Ten Lost Tribes. The whereabouts of the members of these lost houses will remain a mystery until the coming of Mashiach ben Yosef. Thus far only a precious few of these people have identified other than the Samaritans.
Assyria existed as an independent state from approximately 2500 BCE to 605 BCE (i.e. from the Early Bronze Age through to the late Iron Age). From the end of the 7th century BCE to the mid-7th century CE it survived as a geopolitical entity and included such clans as Assur, Addible, Osroene and Hatra between the 1st century BCE and late 3rd century CE. A couple of hundred years later they fell before the armies of Islam. The Syrians are their descendants.
Prior to their fall the Assyrians were centered in modern northern Iraq, northeastern Syria and southeastern Turkey. It is no coincidence that these same lands, now ruled by Islamic State and Caliph Ibrahim, have their intentions set to destroy the people and nation of Israel.

So, according to Prophet Micah the coming one as cruel as Haman will be "the Assyrian." Haman served Ahasuerus, the King of Persia (Iran) in the Book of Esther. He therefore arose from the lands adjacent to Assyria that Islamic State wishes to conquer, i.e. Shiite Iran. These conflicts have been going on since the beginning of the Jewish Covenant. They have an inexplicable yearning to destroy our people. That craving is present in the very heart of Al Qur'an and Islam.
The current geopolitical realities are precisely the scenario laid out by the prophets.
4:50 Not to be critical of the participants, but I do find it interesting that at this precise moment in their discussion they get "silly" and start joking around. Does this mean anything? Who can say. Its a heavy topic, but this is worth noting I think. Notice how the Rabbi sits back to wait for the jocularity to subside.
6:00 The topic of Iran comes up and the question, who is going to say 'Don't worry humble people.'
The question is, "Who is it now in line 3 telling us don't worry? Today we don't have anyone saying that." Note the Rabbis hesitation before offering his answer.
Then he says something that many of my online friends have questioned my accuracy on. People say to me, "We know many Christians believe these are the Last Days, but Jews don't believe this do they?" The rabbi here says that all the great tzadikim (sages) have said that we are on the cusp of the Messianic age. The Holocaust etc. are, he says, the "birth pangs" of HaMashiach. Exactly what many of us have been pointing out for years. We don't know when Mashiach ben Yosef and Melech HaMashiach ben David will emerge, but there is reason to believe that the day may well be dawning at last. If so, we should expect seriously difficult days ahead.

Note that the Lubavitcher Rebbe wisely counseled that by Israel trying to trade land for peace they are inadvertently causing Jewish deaths.
He repeats that Moshe and Mashiach are inexorably bound together even though Moshe was of a different House of Israel.
The Rabbi repeats that "most sources" [i.e. most Jewish authorities today] say Mashiach will appear outside of Israel and bring Jews with him to Israel. This is supported by understanding gilgul neshama not only as the path of rebirth but also as the process through which all Jewish souls "roll" Home, back to Israel at this time. Those Jews who don't embrace the teaching of transmigration usually interpret the doctrine in this way only
An interesting analogy is made about how Moshe died in the desert and didn't lead the generation of the Exodus into the Promised Land. Now Mashiach will appear "in the desert" and bring us into Promised Land completing the circle of the Exodus and the Return.
At 2:54 the Rabbi, stressing the times. He says he prays that Mashiach will come before the end of the class and take them all to Israel. This is significant. Because Jewish prophetic understanding acknowledges the coming of the one as cruel as Haman and yet also provides the hope that if the Jews will make teshuvah properly, if they will repent, then his hellish reign could be diverted. Mashiach could come right now and bypass the remaining prophecies, may this be so!
The one Daniel foretold as the "Little Horn" is not the coming despot according to our sages. This evil king has already come and gone. He was Antiochus Epiphanes, the leader the Maccabees defeated, giving rise to the Festival of Light (Chanukah). He is however a suitable example of the one as cruel as Haman who may even now be rising onto the world stage.
3:30 Here the Rabbi makes an important point that we should all heed. By studying Torah (i.e. all the revealed Scriptures) and gaining ever deeper understanding about the prophecies we hasten the coming of Melech HaMashiach ben David. Our readiness to accept him could bypass some of the remaining negative prophetic events. This helps not only ourselves but advances the spiritual renewal and redemption of the entire universe! Let's just make sure we are embracing the true Mashiach!
3:40 The question is asked whether the Mashiach will come as a baby or as a grown man. Think about this! The Tanach is clear that HaMashiach is to be born in Bethlehem, of David's lineage (Micah 5:2 etc). Listen to the Rabbi's answer! He has to be in a human form and he has to be an adult already! Mashiach will have to be a fully human spiritual leader of the Jewish people. SO, he may well already be alive today. He will have to be a political leader of the Jewish people, so he could be active already in the Israeli government. He will have to be expert in and fully obedient of Torah (Oral as well as Written) and halacha, so he could already be a religious student or teacher. The Rabbi appears to believe that the man who will be HaMashiach is alive today "somewhere." Is he? Time will tell!
Next the Rabbi is asked whether the Mashiach, since he is already alive on the earth today (according to the Rabbi), could be killed (4:09). In response he quotes Maimonides as saying that if the Mashiach is killed that is proof that he is not really the Mashiach (because HaMashiach will live and fulfill all of the requirements in a single life). Think about this. The supposition is that someone is HaMashiach. IF he is killed he clearly never was. Such a person was a mere claimant. Hence we do not accept the messianic claims of any deceased person, including the holy final Chabad Rebbe who passed away on June 12, 1994, nor the Nazarene, nor the many others who have been considered for the post. We are still waiting.

So let's think about what we have learned here:
This rabbi -- and he is quite learned and speaks in harmony with many other rabbis both within and without Chabad -- paints the following scenario:
- The Rabbi's Mashiach will come from outside of Israel, unite the Jews of the Diaspora, and bring them to Israel.
- The Rabbi's Mashiach will come from/through the power structures of Rome and Babylon: i.e. Vatican City and Iraq/Islamic State. At the very least this implies a prophetic association between Christendom (probably the Catholic Church) and Islam (probably Islamic State/Muslim Brotherhood, Sunni). This connection between Assyria and Babylon/Iraq/Syria/Islamic State is obvious. The developing cordial relationship between the Vatican and its final Pope (if one accepts the Malachy prophecies) appears to be developing now.
- The Rabbi's Mashiach will come onto the world stage as an adult male through natural means, he will be born and develop as any other man. He may be from either an Arab Christian or Muslim background according to the Rabbi, although he will obviously be Jewish by birth (doubtless through his mother at least). He will not appear seated on a flying white horse as many Christian expect. He will travel to Rome to assist those hurt in the war. He will be a Jewish man of uncertain origins who does great things. He will be accepted by both Jews and Christians as the Messiah and by the Muslims as Imam Mahdi, by the Hindus as Kalki etc.
- The Rabbi's Mashiach will have full knowledge of other cultures and religions and use that knowledge to draw everyone to himself. This is harmonious with the fact that not only the Jews and Christians will accept him, but so will those of all religious systems. The Rabbi foresees a man who is intimately knowledgeable of the world's religions and who will use that knowledge to establish global peace both between the religions and nations. More specifically, between the Goyim and the Jews.
- The Rabbi's Mashiach's ancestry may be a bit murky and uncertain but he explains how this uncertainty can be considered evidence of his legitimacy rather than as a negative. He will be a descendant of Melech David, with ties, perhaps by blood, to not only the Jews but through the more inclusive San Grael Aryan lineage will certainly be viewed in a positive light to the European Globalists. As long as his essential Israelite heritage is confirmed and his actions appear beneficial to the Jews people many of our political and religious leaders will undoubtedly embrace him in the name of shalom!
- The Rabbi's Mashiach will be a great humanitarian, binding the people's wounds and healing their divisions as he establishes global peace and security.
The FALSE Mashiach, the "one as cruel as Haman," will have to be a good counterfeit! He will have to fulfill SOME of the prophecies of all three religions. He will have to be able to make a strong case for himself as well as be a powerful figure!
We MUST use discretion and employ TORAH and the writings of the prophets and our sages to recognize who is real and who is false. Even as a great many good and sincere people have been deceived before, even Rabbi Akiva, so too now as these conditions continue to develop we must be cautious. Trust ONLY in HaShem! The REAL Messiah has his tasks and so do we. Do YOUR task. When the real Messiah is here we will all know.
What I hope I have demonstrated here is that when (not if) this Rex Mundi, this global potentate as cruel as Haman, arises it is completely reasonable and likely that many of the elders of Medīnat Yisrā'el (the nation of Israel) as well as many Orthodox and non-Orthodox religious leaders of the Jews, as well as a majority of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Atheists, etc. will accept him as global potentate. Whatever they deem as authority, whether human wisdom, their Scriptures and traditions, his good deeds, or whatever the conditions that are fast developing, a well learned charismatic leader, with or without prior Globalist backing and grooming, could easily deceive the whole world. In the 1930's the German people felt humiliated. Their economy was in shambles and they were longing for a deliverer. As the world continues to stumble this sense of uncertainty is rising and the people are ripe for such a leader.
The conditions now exist for his appearence among every people group on earth.
The Western Globalist are preparing a terrifying alternative to Global Sharia. The biblical prophecies are written in such a way that their success would also be harmonious with the prophecies. It apears most likely to me that the coming despot will arise from the now emerging Global Union of States than from the Islamic Ummah. There is indeed some evident that the Muslims will join us in opposing Globalism. Nonethelessless, either of these futures is very possible and either would fit the biblical prophecies well.
Either Islamic State and Jihadi Islam will be victorious or the despotic fascistic Aryan Globalism known as the New World Order ("Novus Ordo Seclorum": the New Order of the Ages) will rule and establish the nightmare society promoted by Walter Chronkite, Queen Beatrice, the Bush and Clinton dynasties and other Globalists. What sounded like wild conspiracy theory a few years ago now appears and is being supported by the corporate controlled nightly news and other media outlets. Where will this end? Its up to us! G-d has empowered the Jewish people to decide! Will we stand in opposition or will remain silent as much of the world did as Hitler rose to power? So far we are mainly doing the later. Whatever our decision, our HOPE is in HaShem alone!
May Melech HaMashiach ben David come soon and lead us all to freedom!
