- Reject the Rex Mundi

Revelation 10:11 They told me, "You must prophesy again over many peoples, nations, languages, and kings."11:1 A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, "Rise, and measure God's temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it. 11:2 Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don't measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.
Bet HaMikdash: The Holy Temple
John is now told to measure the Temple. The Temple will have been rebuilt as Rex Mundi was accepted as the Moshiach by the key Jewish leaders and most of the world.
Ezekiel chapters 40-47 give the basic layout design of the Temple. Religious Jews have prayed for this reconstruction since the Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE.
There is some question about the existence of the Muslim "Dome of the Rock" Mosque (Masjid Qubbat As-Sakhrah) that stands on the site of the Holy Jewish Temple that will have to be addressed. Jerusalem was conquered in 637 CE by the Muslim Rashidun Caliphate army during the Islamic invasion of the Byzantine Empire. The Dome of the Rock masjid was completed in 691 CE and is the oldest existing Islamic building in the world and one of Islam's principle "holy places" (as Muhammad is supposed to have visited Heaven from the Temple Mount according to Muslim beliefs). How then can the Temple be rebuilt?
Some have argued that if the Third Temple is the same percentage smaller than the Second Temple was from the First, it will fit with three inches to spare. I can neither confirm nor deny this, but I doubt that will be the answer to the issue. My guess is that the method will be more diplomatic. According to the prophecies both the Muslims and the Jews (and the Christians and others) will accept Rex Mundi as the Second Coming of "Jesus," therefore his word will carry incredible weight with both religions. If "Messiah" says do something all sides will accept. However Rex Mundi does it, he will have the Temple rebuilt on the original site as the prophets states. Of this we can be certain.
And... Perhaps there will be an earthquake...
The Temple, even in its absence, forms the very heart of Judaism as is reflected in Jewish prayer.
Prayer
Maimonides (Mishneh Torah, Laws of Prayer 1:4) says that until the Babylonian exile happened, all Jews composed their own prayers. This was one of the reforms Master Y'shua sought to bring back to Judaism. He felt that the rote recitation of prayers had compromised the personal relationship of the people with HaShem. As we read:
Matthew 6:5 "When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.The word hypocrite is hupokrites and literally means: one who answers, an interpreter, an actor, a stage player. In other words, the Master is saying not be like those who recite prayers like an actor on a stage...
6:6 But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
6:7 In praying, don't use vain repetitions, as the Heathens do [literally "don't adapt to the customs of any "ethnikos" ethnic group"]; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.The word "Heathen" (KJV) or "Gentile" (WEB) here is ethnikos and means "to be adapted to the customs of an ethnic group." His meaning is clear. He is not saying not to pray "like the Gentiles" but rather is telling his followers to talk with HaShem rather than mindlessly repeating scripted words according to cultural norms (of any people). Of course this does not nullify recitation of the Shema and so on, only that we need balance and volition in our prayer life. The Master then gives an example of how to prayer that ironically, considering the context in which it was spoken, has become the most well known scripted prayer of all: "The Lord's Prayer" or "Our Father Prayer".
After the Babylonian exile certain Jewish sages (of the Great Assembly) decided for some reason that the people needed their guidance in approaching HaShem and so they composed the main portions of the siddur (official Jewish prayers). This decision, Y'shua felt, was a mistake. He advocated drawing the people into more direct and personal communion with HaShem and accused the Scribes and Pharisees of intentionally leading the people farther away from God in order to elevate their own status as middlemen. This allegation by Y'shua was one of the major reasons his reforms were rejected.
Here is an example of the Master's teaching in this regard:
Mathew 23:12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.23:23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the Torah: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone. 23:24 You blind guides, who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel!
23:25 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and unrighteousness. 23:26 You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that its outside may become clean also.It may appear we are going off topic here but we are not. To the Jews the importance of the Temple can not be overstated!
The main elements of Jewish prayer still used today were established during the period of the Tannaim. As the Orthodox Jews sought to prepare the Jewish people for life in the Diaspora after the loss of the Temple, certain Pharisees, the Tannaim, became those Rabbinic sages whose teachings are recorded in the Mishnah. This period lasted from approximately 70-200 CE. As the My Jewish Learning website tells us, "...from their traditions, later committed to writing, we learn that the generation of rabbis active at the time of the destruction of the Second Temple (70 C.E.) gave Jewish prayer its structure and, in outline form at least, its contents." This new liturgy included the recitations of the Shema, the Amidah, or Shmoneh Esrei, including 18 blessings recited several times daily, and the public recitation of the Torah in installments. Therefore much of what we today think of Judaism and Jewish prayer came to be after the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE and as a direct result of that horrendous loss.
The presence and even the absence of the Temple is a critical foundation of Judaism, and the Jewish people wherever they have lived have always prayed for three things above all else: 1) to return to Eretz Israel, 2) for the Temple to be rebuilt and 3) for Moshiach to come and accomplish both.
As Rex Mundi rises to power he will be accepted as Moshiach by the majority of Jews and the majority of Rabbis. Perhaps by most Jews other than the 144,000.
This gives us some critical information on identifying Rex Mundi. As he causes the Temple to be rebuilt and signs the peace treaty with Israel as Paul describes, he will be accepted as Moshiach by the Jews, as Y'shua the Anointed warned would happen (John 5:43). He therefore must be Jewish as a non-Jew would never be accepted as Moshiach by the Orthodox Jews. And not only must he be Jewish, he must also be able to validate his ancestry according to the detailed Jewish messianic lineage. Following the destruction of the Temple most Jews lost knowledge of their tribal lineage (and none could prove it conclusively).
How then can any Jew be accepted as Moshiach? There are of course theories. Some say that hidden beneath the Temple Mount (or elsewhere) are records dating from Abraham to 70 CE which will be found as construction on the Temple is underway. Tracing the lineage of many Jews to that point would be possible, especially those from the "better" families.
There are also the reports of the Merovingian adoption of Mary Magdalene and the child she bore with Y'shua (supposedly the New Testament recorded wedding feast at Cana was theirs). The lineage of that child and her offspring would be recorded right in the New Testament. According to certain Dark Prophecies this will be the lineage of Rex Mundi. According to this same belief, the Bavarian Illuminati have been funding and conducting genetic research for centuries and they have developed a way to absolutely confirm the required lineage of their Messianic candidate: The Human Genome Project.
However he does it, Rex Mundi must demonstrate to the satisfaction of the world's leading Orthodox Rabbis that he meets ALL of the qualifications to be Moshiach.
And he will.
Whether or not he will actually be a blood descendant of Y'shua and Mary Magdalene I can't say, but I fully expect him to claim the San Grael ("holy bloodline") and to produce solid evidence supporting the claim.
Let me state emphatically that while it is true that SOME Christians say the Antichrist will be Jewish as a form of Antisemitism, I do not. I am a committed Zionist and an ardent support of Israel.
And, to suggest that Orthodox Jews would ever accept a Gentile as Moshiach (as for instance the very unbiblical Left Behind Series did) is absurd and possibly even Antisemitic! The Real Moshiach MUST be Jewish and therefore Rex Mundi must be Jewish if he is to be accepted as Moshiach by the Orthodox. There is nothing Antisemitic about it. And if he can convince the Christian and Muslim would that he is a physical descendant of Master Y'shua, then his acceptance by all three religions is all but assured going in. This is what I personally expect to happen. Time will tell.
However no Gentile, no matter how closely he seems to meet the other qualifications, will be Rex Mundi. This includes Adolf Hitler, Hussein Obama or any other proffered claimant. There have been countless evil people in history and many of these manifested the "spirit of antichrist" but they have all only been dim reflections of the Son of Perdition.
We are told the following:
I John 2:18 Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen...There will be one man who will be the Antichrist and that man has yet to appear on the world stage even though we have witnessed antichrists.
Our current verse (4:2) states: ...They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.
Forty-two months equals three and a half years.
John is now describing the beginning of the Great Tribulation Period, the final three and a half years.
As explained in chapter 9, the Times of the Gentiles (Luke 22:25) will end with a final seven year period. During the first half of that period (known as "the Tribulation") Rex Mundi will appear to be a good if somewhat harsh ruler riding a "white horse." At the midpoint of these seven years however he will commit a grievous sin that will estrange many people. This will take place in Jerusalem and is known prophetically as "the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet." Master Y'shua references this event here:
24:15 "When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 24:16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.When this desecration happens the second half of the final seven year period will begin (this second half is known as "the Great Tribulation").
John is now going to discuss key events from this second three and a half year (forty-two month) period during which the Holy City of Jerusalem will be trodden underfoot by the New World Order.
Luke 21:24 They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations [i.e. the Diaspora]. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.The Two Witnesses
11:3 I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."Around the time Rex Mundi rises from the dead these two prophets will make their presence known as witnesses (and executioners) against the people of the earth and their infernal leader "the Little Horn," as Prophet Daniel calls the Antichrist (Dan 7:8, 8:9). They will testify to the rightness of God's developing intervention in human affairs and will also act as the executioners of those judgments. They will proclaim the failure of humanity and announce that due to that failure and the intended coming genocide of world Jewry, HaShem is now intervening and taking control of the planet. This announcement is harmonious with the prophecy of Y'shua the Anointed:
Matthew 24:22 Unless those days should be shortened, no flesh would survive. But for the sake of the Elect [the chosen ones], those days will be shortened.The word "witnesses" as used here is translated from martus and references testifying in a legal, court of law, sense. As I discussed at the outset of this study, the setting presented by John is of a courtroom. The case is "Lucifer verses Moshiach" (i.e. the resolution of Lucifer's challenge recorded in the Book of Job). The decisive testimony of these two men will continue for one thousand two hundred sixty days, which is to say, for the same remaining forty-two month or three and half year period that sees the Holy City again trodden under the feet of the Gentiles (compare Matt. 24:15-20).
The current Luciferian attempts by Globalists like Jimmy Carter, Hillary Clinton and Hussein Obama to give East Jerusalem to al Ikhwan (the Muslim Brotherhood) is doubtless in preparation for this desecration of Jerusalem and it must be opposed by all who serve HaShem and who stand with His Elect.
What these Two Witnesses behold and testify about their fellow humans will sadden and sicken them. They will accurately bear witness against the people of the earth for destroying the environment, for waging unjust wars and genocides, for slaughtering over a billion unborn children through abortion since the conclusion World War Two, for allowing human beings (and animals) to needlessly suffer and die of diseases (many intentionally created in the laboratories of the Elite Globalists), for their many abuses and for needless starvation due to greed and corporatism -- even seeds are now being patented! -- while the Elite live in the lap of luxury off the efforts of the poverty stricken workers. They will condemn the deliberate deaths of the elderly, the ill and the weak... and Luciferian sentiments such as the following:
"The human species is an example of a malignant ecotumor, an uncontrolled proliferation of a single species that threatens the existence of other species in their habitats..... The idea that the human population is a planetary cancer is a profoundly disturbing conclusion, but the observations of the scientific community over the last 20 years have provided massive support this hypothesis and little, if anything, to refute it."-- late term abortionist Warren Hern
The Two Witnesses will shine the light of Truth on all the evils of humanity and none will be found blameless!
The Two Witnesses will point accusing fingers at the NWO leaders of the planet who, like the first planetary emperor of the age Nimrod, have set themselves up in opposition to HaShem (Gen 10:9) and who even now are building a metaphorical ziggurat or tower to reach the very heavens (Gen 11:4)!
And HaShem's response will be the same! Moshiach is bringing this godless civilization down to its knees and the Two Witnesses, the Twenty Four Elders, the Four Living Creatures, the Martyrs, the 144,000 Jewish evangelists and the Great Multitude of Gentiles from every tongue and tribe and former nation will unite and loudly proclaim: "Amen! Righteous and True are the Judgments of our God!"
And Rex Mundi will have to contend with them all!
Like modern day divinely empowered Noahs, the Two Witnesses will deliver HaShem's judgments upon our generation! They will find no joy in their work. Indeed, the prophet tells us they will be dressed in sackcloth, the garments of mourning. Yet these judgments must come before Moshiach can introduce the Thousand Year Kingdom of HaShem and restore the Blessing of God to the inhabitants of the planet. The remaining 144,000 and the Great Multitude will join with these Two Witnesses in condemning Lucifer and his minions. The will continue warning the people to repent and oppose the Beast as long as the breath of life remains within them!
Like prophets of old, the Two Witnesses will make that which is now hidden known to everyone! The plans of the Bavarian Illuminati and the traitors of every nation will be exposed. They will identify and judge all who stand in opposition to HaShem and His Plan of Restoration. They will name names and call down Divine Wrath and Vengeance against the enemies of God and humanity! Moshiach will empower the Witnesses to act on his judgments as his official representatives. Remember, Moshiach is directing the Armies of HaShem!
But the prophets of old, even Elijah, never acted with such fierce power nor on a global scale as these two will! The Two Witnesses will declare that Moshiach's Global Court is now in session! All who violate the Seven Noahide Laws will be held to account! Even as Rex Mundi is frantically trying to maintain his control over China (see 9:13 remarks) and the other nations that will be rebelling at this point, Moshiach will be calling the Earth to judgment! Still Rex Mundi, now fully possessed by Lucifer himself, will seek to expand and solidify his power and crush all opposition!
Concerning the two Witnesses John continues:
11:4 These are the two olive trees and the two menorahs, standing before the Lord of the earth.So the logical question is: who are these two prophets? We are told that they are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks or menorahs who stand before HaShem. What does this tell us?
Zechariah 4:1 The angel who talked with me came again, and wakened me, as a man who is wakened out of his sleep. 4:2 He said to me, "What do you see?"
I said, "I have seen, and behold, a menorah all of gold, with its bowl on the top of it, and its seven lamps thereon; there are seven pipes to each of the lamps, which are on the top of it;
4:3 and two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl, and the other on the left side of it."
4:4 I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, "What are these, my lord?"
4:5 Then the angel who talked with me answered, "Don't you know what these are?"
I said, "No, my lord." ...4:11 Then I asked him, "What are these two olive trees on the right side of the lampstand and on the left side of it?"
4:12 I asked him the second time, "What are these two olive branches, which are beside the two golden spouts, that pour the golden oil out of themselves?"
4:13 He answered me, "Don't you know what these are?"
I said, "No, my lord."
4:14 Then he said, "These are the two anointed ones who stand by the Lord of the whole earth."I discuss the ongoing role of the "Hinderers" elsewhere (on my Noahide Nazarene site and on my John of AllFaith blog). In that study I explain how the anointing of HaShem is bestowed upon all those who willingly join this struggle for HaShem's Kingdom.
Understand that the word "anointing" is the literal translation of the word "christ" and all who accept the role of hinderer (II Thess. 2) are anointed by HaShem. They are, in this sense, christs or christianos. One christ will fulfill the Messianic prophecies. It is he who will deliver the world from evil by God's power and it is he who is now presenting this information to John and leading the armies of HaShem. For more on this topic see my study: Identifying the Moshiach. Two christianos or anointed ones will serve as the Two Witnesses. Other christianos include the 144,000 and the Great Multitude.
According to the rabbis, in every generation there have always been divinely anointed people ready to perform any task required by HaShem. In these Last Days we are all, Jews and Noahide Nazarenes alike, called upon to be christianos and to hinder the rise and revelation of the Beast, the Rex Mundi. One he arises we are all commanded to stand against him. The Two Witnesses will be specially empowered 'hinderers'. They will stand and carry out their ministry as directed by Moshiach. They will be, we might say, Generals in HaShem's Holy Army. Of all such anointed servants Master Y'shua tells us,
Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few chosen."So we must keep our lamps filled with the oil of the Spirit, our wicks trimmed and our minds alert to the signs of the times!
Matthew 25:1 "Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom.
25:2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 25:3 Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them, 25:4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 25:5 Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 25:6 But at midnight there was a cry, 'Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!' 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
25:8 The foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, 'What if there isn't enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.'
25:10 While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.
25:11 Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us.' 25:12 But he answered, 'Most certainly I tell you, I don't know you.'
25:13 Watch therefore, for you don't know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.We can not say who these two prophets will be or may have been in the past. They may not even know! Some conjecture they are Moses and Elijah, others say Daniel or perhaps David or some other faithful servant. We simply are not told. According to the texts we have considered, we do know that these particular servants of HaShem have lived and served Him in the past and that they are alive today ready to fulfill their next assignment. We know that HaShem grants certain of His servants future lives. As one confirmation of this consider this comment made to Prophet Daniel:
Daniel 12:13 But you, go your way until the end; for you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of days."If these are the End Times (and they are) then Daniel is alive today ready to serve.
And another example:
Matthew 17:10 His disciples asked him, saying, "Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"
17:11 Y'shua answered them, "Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things, 17:12 but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn't recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them."
17:13 Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.These two servants of HaShem, whoever they were/are, have lived before and are now reborn for this task. Doubtless others are now alive as well.
11:5 If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way.No wonder they are clothed in sackcloth! Despite the righteousness of their judgments, in many ways this will surely be a heartbreaking ministry.
11:6 These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.The Two Witnesses are not only martus who will deliver their testimony!
They will minister specifically in and to Eretz Israel, however the scope of their testimony will be global. There is no reason to assume they will only work in Israel. They will doubtless appear anywhere on the planet according to the will of HaShem. Many of the natural laws we assume to be unassailable will be shattered during these Seven Years. For one person to appear simultaneously in two places today is hard to accept (although it is reported from time to time) but by this point in the Great Tribulation such things will be occurring regularly. It is quite possible if not likely for instance that the Two Witnesses will stand in judgment simultaneously in Jerusalem, Paris, London, Mumbai and amidst the rubble that was formerly New York... anywhere the Spirit leads them. HaShem is not a limited being nor are those under His anointing! As the Psalmist quotes HaShem:
Psalm 82:5 ... All the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6 I said, "You are gods,
all of you are sons of the Most High.
82:7 Nevertheless you shall die like men,
and fall like one of the rulers."
82:8 Arise, God, judge the earth,
for you inherit all of the nations!These christianos, these hinderers, are now rising! For more on this important Psalm see my study Arise Oh God!
By the time the Two Witnesses begin their ministry -- three and a half years after the rise of Rex Mundi -- vast areas of the earth will have already been decimated. Millions of people will have been killed by war, revolution, natural disasters, starvation, wild starving animals, marauding demons, plagues of every kind etc. and now, it will be their grim task to add to the devastation! Sackcloth indeed!
Their message will be a simple one, yet oh so profound!
The vast majority of us will not survive the coming seven years, especially the second half.
The wise thing to do is develop an eternal perspective and prepare yourself to stand against Hell itself whatever the cost, because that is what is coming: Hell and its King.
We are advised:
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in HaShem, and in the strength of his might.
6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
6:12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the celestial realms.
6:13 Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.The testimony of the Two Witnesses will fill the earth and will shame the conscious of everyone! All those who have not been sealed by HaShem will despise these men with a vengeance and will pray to the idols of the Beast for their deaths and for the end of their judgments!
The Novus Ordo Seclorum or New World Order government of Rex Mundi will seek to silence the Two Witnesses in various ways. They will go after all who accept their testimony and those who stand with them. During these days ever more martyrs will lay down their lives but the Elite will be incapable of silencing the Two Witnesses!
Until...
11:7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.
11:8 Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Master was impaled.Holy Jerusalem (where our Master was impaled: "stauroo" means to stake, to drive down stakes) by this point will have been desecrated by Luciferian Darkness. It will be like Sodom (paranoid and violent) and like Egypt (filled with idolatry and perversions of every kind).
Once the ministry of the Two Witnesses is completed the forces of Rex Mundi -- the beast that comes up out of the abyss -- will be allowed to kill them. The Two Witnesses will willingly embrace martyrdom and give an example to the rest.
The Two Witnesses will be murdered in the streets of desecrated Jerusalem as mobs of Luciferians cheer!
11:9 From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations the people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.
11:10 Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.The Two Witnesses will have seared the conscience of the world, revealing everyone's sins and convicting them all! They will have called down so much devastation on this rebellious Earth, but still the people will not repent and seek God! Their anger and hatred of these men and of the God they serve will only increase!
But now... now they will exalt because their 'Glorious Leader' will have proved who has the greater power! The greater authority! "Just look!" the people will triumph, "the Golden One has killed these worrisome false prophets!"
Talk about a Mardi Gras, a Dionysian Carnival! For three days the Luciferians will be ecstatic! They will be dancing in the streets across the globe with all manner of excesses and moral debauchery! A global celebration of the triumph of evil over good! Of Lucifer over Shiloh! These left-overs from the Old Order will have been destroyed and utterly disgraced!
The people will rejoice that their God (Rex Mundi)rose from the dead but just see these men! Their miserable bodies laying in the gutter as their remains are defiled by the celebrating masses!
11:11 After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.As the crowds again swell around the corpses amid hushed whispers and the whir of TV cameras... and then... a twitch. "Did you see that, his finger moved!" And then another, and then... The Two Witnesses rise to their feet and stand, beholding the awe stuck crowd! Around the globe people rush to their television sets to witness the impossible as it happens live on CNN! And then...
11:12 I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here!" They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them.Just imagine this!
11:13 In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.Glory but not repentance!
11:14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly.As we read before: 8:13: I saw, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe! Woe! Woe for those who dwell on the earth, because of the other voices of the shofars of the three angels, who are yet to sound!"
The Seventh Shofar/Trumpet: The Third Woe
As you will doubtless recall, the Seventh Shofar/Trumpet is contained within the Seventh Sealed Scroll (as are the Seven Bowls or Saucers we will read about in chapter sixteen). The Seventh Shofar is now sounding as we reach this point in John's prophetic presentation. To avoid confusion here, this final shofar covers a longer period of time than its actual sounding would suggest. It will not actually be sounded at this point, but the prophet lists the events that follow under it as an inclusive time frame.
11:15 The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Anointed. He will reign forever and ever!"Remember this quote from Paul's prophetic writings:
I Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last shofar [trumpet]. For the shofar will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.This is that last shofar, the Seventh Trumpet. It will be sounded as Moshiach takes his throne and inaugurates the Theocratic Kingdom of HaShem. We will discuss the details of what will happen then later in this study. John however is referencing that final sounding of the Seventh Shofar here. As mentioned previously, those who cite this verse by Paul (i.e. I Cor. 15:51 )as evidence for the doctrine of the Rapture need to reconsider their beliefs. The final trump will not sound until seven years after they believe the Rapture will occur.
The exact corresponding timing of the ascension of the Two Witnesses, the conclusion of the Battle of Har-Megiddo (Armageddon) and the enthronement of Moshiach as King of Israel and overlord of the Earth is not given however it is clear that these events happen in fairly rapid sequence and in this order.
As the Seventh Shofar sounds:
11:16 The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God's throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 11:17 saying: "We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned.
11:18 The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the holy ones, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth."
11:19 God's temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord's covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.We will discuss the events that happen at the establishment of the Kingdom later, but these are the events John is now previewing.
