Chapter Nine

Let's recall the final verse of the last chapter: 8:13: I saw, and I heard an eagle, flying in mid heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe! Woe! Woe for those who dwell on the earth, because of the other voices of the shofars of the three angels, who are yet to sound!"

The Fifth Shofar/Trumpet: The First Woe

9:1 The fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from the sky which had fallen to the earth. The key to the pit of the abyss was given to him.

Sometimes the prophets use the word star (aster) to refer to a literal star, to a meteorite, to an object (like the mound of wormwood) and sometimes to an "angel" or Messenger. When such objects fall to the earth, either literally or symbolically, they appear like 'shooting stars' streaking across the skies. As in English, context often determines what a word means. In this case, the star refers to a specific angel.

Some incorrectly believe this to be a fallen angel or demon but they are mistaken in this. This is a Messenger (angel) of God sent forth by Moshiach as part of his ongoing campaign against Rex Mundi. We have seen this angel before and will see him again!

Revelation 7:2 I saw another angel ascend from the sunrise, having the seal of the living God. He cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was given to harm the earth and the sea, 7:3 saying, "Don't harm the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, until we have sealed the bondservants of our God on their foreheads!"

In commenting on this verse I postured that this is the angel that replaced Lucifer. HaShem and His Moshiach use this unidentified angel in critical ways.

Recall from Revelation 1:18 that Master Y'shua tells John: "...I have the keys of Death and of Sheol" [the grave]. These keys were given by him to this angel for this purpose. Of this angel's use of the keys we will read a bit later on in this study:

20:1 I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 20:2 He seized the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole inhabited earth, and bound him for a thousand years...

This angel therefore is a key soldier in Moshiach's military.

9:2 He opened the pit of the abyss, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke from a burning furnace. The sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke from the pit.

As stated before, if the text makes sense literally take it literally. In this case it does not. We do not have a clear identification of this "pit of the abyss" -- or as the King James has it this "bottomless pit." However we do have enough to identify it from other sources. This is another important key in interpreting the prophecies (and the Scriptures in general). When the text is not clear it is always best to interpret it by the Scriptures.

In ancient times there was a place known as the Valley of Hinnom. It still exists today as modern neighborhood on the outskirts of Jerusalem. You can see lots of images of it HERE. In that place great evils were done. Of this cursed valley, especially its southern end, which is near the eastern gate of Jerusalem (Jeremiah 19:2) we read:

Jeremiah 7:30 For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight, says Yahweh: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it. 7:31 They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I didn't command, nor did it come into my mind.
7:32 Therefore behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The Valley of Slaughter: for they shall bury in Topheth, until there is no place to bury. 7:33 The dead bodies of this people shall be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth; and none shall frighten them away.

In this valley of Slaughter the people defecated, they buried their garbage and unclaimed bodies and continual fires burned disposing of the refuge. As the prophet said, emboldened carrion birds ate of the filth as endless fires burned. This was a vile and condemned place.

As others of his generation, Y'shua the Anointed used this place of death, filth and hopelessness as a metaphor for the condition of all those who reject the love of God. As we read at Matthew 13:34:

Y'shua spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn't speak to them.

Under the Roman Universal Nicean religion these metaphors and parables became dogma and the Church terrified generations with threats of Hellfire and Damnation.

The word Gehenna occurs twelve times in the New Testament and is always translated as "hell" in the King James Version. Because the four Gospels share much of the same information we find that the word is actually only used six or seven times in the New Testament. HaShem is not some evil being who torments people for eternity! Perish the very thought! For more on this topic see my study: Hell Fire and Damnation.

John here is using the same common symbolism in his description. It is completely appropriate because under Rex Mundi the world has become like Topheth in the Valley of Slaughter. Today the Globalist Luciferians who rule practically every country on Earth gather in worship of the same gods with the same rites at the Bohemian Grove in Northern California and elsewhere. The stench of these same evils, like a court testimony of undeniable guilt, is rising like smoke to the Throne of HaShem in challenge. This is the meaning here.

This evil will be made manifest to everyone as the polluted ground literally splits open and vile, noxious smoke plumes forth in public displays of filth and evil.

Although the valley of Slaughter is specifically referenced it is all but certain that these eruptions will be taking place around the globe.

9:3 Then out of the smoke came forth locusts on the earth, and power was given to them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

In cases such as this there could be symbolic interpretations/fulfillments as well. As we look at what the prophet literally says we will also consider a few of these possible meanings. We are told much but we are not told everything. For instance Hal Lindsey, author of the best selling book The Late Great Planet Earth that introduced many people to the study of prophecy interpreted these to be military helicopters. While such interpretations could be correct, they are still only interpretations and can not be proved conclusively. In my opinion we do best to interpret the next few verses as they are written.

9:4 They were told that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree, but only those people who don't have God's seal on their foreheads.

We saw previously that all the grass on earth was burnt up (8:7) but now we read that the angel says to not harm the grass. As stated before, John is describing these events as he beheld them. The percentages of things destroyed and so on are best understood as approximations based on what he beheld. They are not necessarily literally, accurate.

You will also recall from 7:2 that there was a temporary hold placed at that point on the destruction until there servants of HaShem (the 144,000 Jews and the Great Multitude of Gentiles) were "sealed." This is what is being referenced here. These locusts, like scorpion crossbreeds, sting their victims with horrible results but they will not be allowed to sting those who are sealed by HaShem.

9:5 They were given power not to kill them [the un-sealed], but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion, when it strikes a person. 9:6 In those days people will seek death, and will in no way find it. They will desire to die, and death will flee from them.

I take this five month period to be a literal five months. Once stung the searing pain will continue for five months regardless of treatment.

This brings us to another interpretation. Again, this is not what the text says but could be accurate. What John is describing is the battle taking place between Moshiach and Rex Mundi. However the 144,000 and the Great Multitude, along with the human forces of the Rex Mundi are also very active.

Based on what we see the Global Government doing today through the World Health Organization (WHO) and similar groups it is certainly feasible that this stingers could be needles infecting people with vaccinations covertly intended to torture and kill them. If that is so, then HaShem will intervene and not allow those who take them to die but only to endure them. By this point God's people will know better than to trust such evil organizations as the WHO and would reject the vaccinations (those who are wise already are rejecting them today!). Again, to be clear, this is conjecture, a possible interpretation. Each of these prophecies could have multiple fulfillments. What I am sharing here is at best an outline of what is soon coming. We wont fully understand all the details until they are upon us.

9:7 The shapes of the locusts were like horses prepared for war. On their heads were something like golden crowns, and their faces were like people's faces. 9:8 They had hair like women's hair, and their teeth were like those of lions. 9:9 They had breastplates, like breastplates of iron. The sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, or of many horses rushing to war. 9:10 They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.

From this description we see that these are not only mutated locust/scorpions or loathsome insects. They also have human-like faces and wear armor! They reason! The reference to horses is probably a reminder of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse discussed above. These are powerful bringers of doom that gallop ever forward!

Another possible interpretation: Perhaps these could be military drones such as are now being used in Iraq and elsewhere with their "stinger missiles," or again, it could be that who are injected by some WHO lab-created substance will suffer for five months from the injections. It is also conceivable that odd looking aircraft might emit chemtrails and that these, as the reach the ground might sting the people and infect them. Again, time will tell. For our purposes here however, we will stay as close to the texts as possible as we seek understanding.

The Apostle John is presenting a fairly direct image and what he describes is MUCH worse, much more terrifying in its implications than most of the possible interpretations people are offering today! He is presenting locust-like beings with human intelligence and will power. We continue:

9:11 They have over them as king the angel of the abyss. His name in Hebrew is "Abaddon," but in Greek, he has the name "Apollyon."

Both of these names means the Destroyer. Abaddon is referenced in Job as follows:

Job 26:6 Sheol is naked before God,
and Abaddon has no covering.

This tells us a lot!

Proverbs 30:27 The locusts have no king,
yet they advance in ranks.

Locusts have no king but these enemies do!

Abaddon is one of Lucifer's elite minions and he will lead these intelligent, armored, fierce locust-like creatures in waves of attacks against everyone who has not been sealed by HaShem! Think of how swarms of locusts work. They come in wave after wave like dense clouds destroying everything they come into contact with! This is what these evil creatures will do!

Master Y'shua said a house divided against itself can not stand (Mark 3:25). Now Moshiach is dividing Lucifer's house! As though with 'hooks in their noses' Shiloh will force these demonic beings to turn against the followers of Rex Mundi! These minions of Darkness will be forced to attack their own comrades under the controlled direction of the fallen angel Abaddon!

Isaiah 37:29 Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore will I put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.

The nature of these troops is therefore clear from Scripture. They will be literal embodied demons! Like locusts they will cover the land in waves, destroying everything in their path. Like giant flying angry scorpions they will sting and thereby torture all those who have not been sealed by HaShem. And like humans these demons will do this work with demonic intelligence and volition as under the commands of their demonic King. And they will these things by the sovereign Will of HaShem and His Moshiach!

The French poet Baudelaire penned:

"My dear brothers, never forget, when you hear the progress of enlightenment vaunted, that the devil's best trick is to persuade you that he doesn't exist!"

That "trick" has served Lucifer and his New World Order well for many years, but now there is no longer any question as Lucifer's minion devour the Earth and torment his human followers!

While this is going on the servant of HaShem will be engaging in their services to Him and the Global Elite will be busy doing the bidding of Lucifer!

And John is told:

9:12 The first woe is past. Behold, there are still two woes coming after this.

The Sixth Shofar/Trumpet: The Second Woe

9:13 The sixth angel sounded. I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar which is before God, 9:14 saying to the sixth angel who had one shofar, "Free the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates!"

These four angels are demons (fallen angels) but they are being coerced into doing Moshiach's bidding.

Revelation 16:16 He gathered them together into the place which is called in Hebrew, Har-Megiddo.

Of Angels and Demons

We need to understand the nature of angels and demons a bit better. When physically embodied beings like humans want something we reach out with our hands and grasp it. When spirit beings like angels and demons want something they reach out with their minds. In our fallen state we have serious limitations on our ability to interact with the spirit planes and spirit beings are greatly limited (largely for our protection) in their ability to interact with the physical planes. The two realms are interconnected but separate paradigms of Reality. Unity will be restored following the final 1000 years of the Age. When we speak of angels and demons we do well to understand that we are speaking of beings that exist and operate under very different rules than most humans. Their influences are far more subtle than most people imagine.

When material beings want something they plan how to effect or manipulate the physical realities to acquire it. If we need money we get a job and save, or we rob a bank, or we create a better widget etc. Knowing we will be hungry we plant a garden, go shopping and so on. Similarly (but under different laws and conditions) spirit beings manipulate the non-material realities to bring about the conditions they want. Rather than get off track into a metaphysical discussion about the Spirit realms, lets just say that reality "there" may loosely be thought of as manipulating the threads or fibers of ethereal reality. In a way its sort of like playing a giant harp where each thread intones a specific sound vibration. Those sounds, expertly played, can impact material or spiritual reality.

While this is a rather crude explanation we might say that spirit beings operate by the power of "Mind" while material beings operate through the power of "mind." As "real" as physical existence is to humans, spiritual reality is to these beings. We are called to arise to this higher level of consciousness (Psalm 82/John 10:22-39) but at this point very few have.

Now, some humans have learned or been gifted to operate within the spirit realms to varying degrees, as John is doing here. He is currently "out of his body." Some embodied beings are able to consciously leave their bodies ("astral travel," "remote viewing" and so on) and work in the realms of Spirit (non-material reality). I will not enter into the debate about by whose powers such things are done, other than to say that both sides use such techniques (Eccl. 12:6) and that one must be very cautious when operating in them as many of the Hinderers know all too well.

Likewise diverse spirit beings have learned or been empowered to enter into physicality. They do this in various ways as has been witnessed and documented on various occasions. This is not the place to get into this topic but it is worth noting in passing. Possession is one common method used and the number of demon possessed people today is quickly rising. Demons (or other spirit entities) enter into a vulnerable person and establish residence as a separate but connected (via the "silver cord") consciousness. Its actually a disturbingly easy procedure. Others are "overshadowed" but not fully possessed but nonetheless are placed under the direct influence of these entities.

Such experiences are absolutely real and true as millions of us can attest. A huge percentage of people today, in all countries, are possessed and even more are directly oppressed by spirit beings. The number of demon possessed people is rising astronomically today.

As we enter into the Seven Year Tribulation Period the numbers of the possessed and oppressed will continue to skyrocket. As Lucifer and his minions establish ever more direct communion with these people, so too those who are sealed by God (Rev. 7:2) will be experiencing ever deeper communion with Moshiach even as Prophet Joel tells us:

Joel 2:28 "It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
and your sons and your daughters will prophesy.
Your old men will dream dreams.
Your young men will see visions.
2:29 And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days,
I will pour out my Spirit.

Now, according to our current text, the Voice arose from the "horns of the alter." This signifies divine power was behind the command. In other words, HaShem is personally calling forth this next action directly!

The number "four" here may literally mean four specific angels or it may mean the totality (foursquare) of this band of demons. The result will be the same.

We continue:

9:15 The four angels were freed who had been prepared for that hour and day and month and year, so that they might kill one third of mankind.
9:16 The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million. I heard the number of them.

I stated above that John's estimates of the destruction he covers is best read as meaning according to his perceptions rather than as literal percentages. For instance he says all the grass was burnt up but then says a chapter later not to harm the remaining grass.

Here however he says he heard the number of these soldiers as they cross the Euphrates as being two hundred million. We should therefore take this number literally. I'll add more about this once we finish reading about this woe.

9:17 Thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those who sat on them, having breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the heads of lions. Out of their mouths proceed fire, smoke, and sulfur. 9:18 By these three plagues were one third of mankind killed: by the fire, the smoke, and the sulfur, which proceeded out of their mouths. 9:19 For the power of the horses is in their mouths, and in their tails. For their tails are like serpents, and have heads, and with them they harm.
9:20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, didn't repent of the works of their hands, that they wouldn't worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can neither see, nor hear, nor walk. 9:21 They didn't repent of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their sexual immorality, nor of their thefts.

This Second Woe (8:13) occurs within the second half of the Tribulation.

As explained before, the Times of the Gentiles (Luke 22:25) will end with a final seven year period. During the first half of the period (known as "the Tribulation") Rex Mundi will appear to be a good if somewhat harsh ruler riding a "white horse." At the midpoint of these seven years however he commit a grievous sin that will estrange many people. This will take place in Jerusalem and is known prophetically as the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet. Master Y'shua references this event here:

Mark 13:14 But when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains...

We will discuss this abomination in depth later, however it will include his placing an image of himself in the Holy of Holies of the newly rebuild Jerusalem Temple "where it ought not to be."

When this desecration happens the second half of the final seven years will begin (this second half is known as "the Great Tribulation").

In response to this abomination the Global Union foundations of the Novus Ordo Seclorum will teeter for a moment. Someone, almost certainly a devout Jew who will have been deceived by Rex Mundi, will assassinate him (with a deadly wound to the head). The global master will lie in state in Jerusalem for three and a half days and then rise from the dead (Master Y'shua advises that we pray this does not occur on a Sabbath! -- Matt 24:20). During the ensuing chaos various powers previously loyal to the global government (or apparently so at least) will take advantage of the chaos and rebel.

In these verses we are reading of the massive deployment of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). Currently there are 2.3 million active duty soldiers in the PLA. There are 660,000 personnel serving in the People's Armed Police (PAP), and another 1.2 - 1.5 million in the reserve forces and Chinese militia (Source). The PLA will draft all able-bodied citizens (currently China's population is 1,263,000,000), under the demonic leadership of these "four angels" by overshadowing and possession. This massive army will doubtless be accompanied by the types of incarnate demons we saw previously. They will pour across the Euphrates River (thanks in part to the dams that were built several years ago). Unbeknown to most of them, their destination will be Jerusalem and the Battle of Armageddon as we well see soon. Along the way however this massive army will slaughter around a third of the humans as it seeks to establish its own global rule. As before, whether this will literally be another third of the people on Earth or a third of those they encounter, we're talking millions if not billions of people dead.

And while this is going others will be active as well.

As previously covered, once Rex Mundi appears on the scene most people will decide where they will stand. By this point the majority of people will have already received the Mark of the Beast. For all who accept this Mark repentance will be impossible. The language used in verses like this one seems absolute: "the rest of mankind... didn't repent..." and it may well be. But again, if you remember nothing else from this study remember this: IF you sincerely repent God WILL accept even at this late point.

However notice that "The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, didn't repent of the works of their hands, that they wouldn't worship demons, and the idols."

While one can repent up until the point of taking the Mark, it is very doubtful that anyone who has waited this long will. We'll be looking at the Mark of the Beast in detail soon.

While idol worship is always a serious issue in the Bible, the case here surely concerns the idols of the Beast and his worship rather than idols of the past (including Mammon).

Under the New Nicolaitan Universal Religion (Babylon the Great) all worship other than that directed to Rex Mundi will be illegal and severely persecuted. The coming False Prophet (the Pope of the New Universal Religion) will institute the worship of idols of the Rex Mundi as we will see as this study continues. These are the idols being specifically condemned here.

These people will consider that their Living God is being attacked by "evil Jews working their magic" and by the Great Multitude of Gentiles, perhaps especially those "former Christians" who stubbornly refused to embrace "Jesus" when he returned (i.e. Rex Mundi). These people will zealously support hunting down and murdering such "infidels" (i.e. all who refuse to worship Rex Mundi).

The faith of these Globalist Luciferians will only increase as the various plagues, woes and so on intensify.

As I mentioned at the outset, some people are concerned about identifying "the unpardonable sin." I am not convinced such a sin even exists today! God is infinitely merciful. However at the time we are now discussing it will! "Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit" is precisely what these people are doing! They are seeing angels, they are witnessing the testimonies and beholding the powers being wielded through the hands of the ever-dwindling ranks of the 144,000 Jews and the Great Multitudes of Gentiles! At certain points they are even hearing the Voice of HaShem and not only do these people reject the Truth when they see it with own eyes and hear it with their own ears, they condemn Ruach ha Kodesh, the Holy Spirit of HaShem, in favor of Lucifer!
