The Seven Times

Audio Version:

We pray to HaShem, the Holy One of Israel, to fill our hearts with wisdom and understanding as we continue this study into the Revelation of our chief rabbi, Navi Y'shua and Navi Daniel. With this understanding we pledge ourselves to standing always with Israel.

The Seven Times

As introduced last time King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon was given a significant dream by HaShem. Navi Daniel interpreted the dream for the king. The Books of Daniel and Revelation are so intertwined that one needs to understand both in order to understand either. This dream is essential to Revelation 12:1:

Revelation 12:1 A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
Navi (Prophet) Daniel (or Belteshazzar as the King called him) was summoned to interpret his dream:
Daniel 4:10 Thus were the visions of my head on my bed: I saw, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth and its height was great.
4:11 The tree grew and was strong and its height reached to the sky and its sight to the end of all the earth.
4:12 The leaves of it were beautiful and its fruit plentiful, and in it was food for all; the animals of the field had shadow under it, and the birds of the sky lived in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it.
4:13 I saw in the visions of my head on my bed, and behold, a watcher and a holy one came down from the sky.
4:14 "'He cried aloud, and said thus, "Cut down the tree and cut off its branches, shake off its leaves and scatter its fruit; let the animals get away from under it and the birds from its branches.
4:15 Nevertheless leave the stump of its roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of the sky; and let his portion be with the animals in the grass of the earth.
4:16 Let his heart be changed from man's, and let an animal's heart be given to him; and let seven times pass over him.
4:17 This sentence is by decree of the watchers, and this demand by the word of the holy ones; to the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever he will and sets up over it the lowest of men."
Without going into too much detail here, biblical prophecies, dreams and visions sometimes have dual fulfillments or meanings (for instance Joseph's dreams led to his being sold into slavery in Egypt (which resulted in their having food during the famine) and to the liberation of the people through Moshe and their establishment as an independent nation). This was such a dual revelation. The king's dream was literally fulfilled when King Nebuchadnezzar went mad for seven years before being restored to his senses and to his throne. In his seven year insanity we see a type of Rex Mundi, the Son of Perdition or Antichrist, who will insanely oppose Israel for the seven year Tribulation Period. At the midway point of the Tribulation Period (Heylel Lucifer, Isaiah 14:12, Ezekiel 28:12-15) will completely possess the coming global despot, driving him mad. Witnessing this, the nations will seek to overthrow him according to Navi John's revelation. Daniel returns to these seven years later, demonstrating their connection to Antichrist, at Daniel 9:25. There, after an undisclosed period, the final seven years of the age occurs with the reign of Rex Mundi (and John's add the addition of "Babylon the Great" during this period). This revolt (Daniel 9:25) will result in the Battle of Armageddon as we'll discuss later.

People and National Israel is always the key to understanding Scripture, including prophecy. The Northern Ten Houses of Israel had already fallen to Assyria and been lost. Now in Daniel 4 the Jewish people (or House of Judah) have lost the southern kingdom and gone into enslavement to Babylon by the command of King Nebuchadnezzar and the Will of HaShem. We have discussed the image of Israel as a tree before in this study when looking at Romans 11.

In the greater fulfillment of this dream Israel, as the great tree that supports all nations (Genesis 12:3, Exodus 19:6, Daniel 4:14, Revelation 22:2), was cut down by the armies of Babylon and banded by the order of HaShem for "seven times." Incumbent in this is the promise that one day these bands will be removed.

Ezekiel 34:27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am Adonai, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.
34:28 And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.
The Tree of Israel analogy deals with Israel as a political entity. In the 1800's the bands confining Israel began to loosen as we discussed last time. As modern Israel began putting forth its roots with the Balfour Declaration of 1917 and its leaves in 1948 with statehood, the world began to radically change. Nicean Christianity, previously a great power, began fading (as foretold for the Laodicean period discussed in chapters two and three of this study).

During this unbanding period significant globalist plans began coming to light with the emergence of the Economic Unions that are now erasing national boundaries and sovereignty in preparation for the Global Union and its coming despot. Just as the prophets foretold.

Like a tree the Kingdom of Judah was "chopped down" by the Will of HaShem due to disobedience and lack of active faith. However HaShem controls all things and he remains ever with His people! While we have individual and collective freedom, HaShem has always been active in human affairs for the good of Israel first, and of the world entire. When the time comes His deliverance of His people is always ready. With their deliverance the world entire will be liberated from the Luciferian and Elite/Merovingian human rebellion. First however the "woman" Israel must face the difficult times discussed in this chapter.

The Kingdom Offered and Refused

As candidly recorded in the Tanakh, the apocryphal books of the Maccabees, and the books of the B'rit Hadashah (or "New Testament"), the first century Jewish leadership was not ready or willing to accept the kingship of HaShem's anointed when Yochanan the Immerser and Y'shua the Messiah offered it by the authority of HaShem. there are many reasons for this and this comment should not be viewed as a slander against these Jewish sages. We understand why they rejected the offer.

During the first century BCE HaShem began loosening the bands on the Tree of Israel for the Maccabees in preparation of the coming of Yochanan the Essene and Y'shua as Melekh of Israel. Rather than placing their faith in HaShem alone however, the Maccabees turned to Pagan Rome for protection against Antiochus IV Epiphanes (Epiphanes: Manifest God, the Illustrious). Antiochus is a "type" of the Rex Mundi. In the final event the elders of Israel will again follow this course by embracing the Rex Mundi until the events of this chapter (Revelation 12) take place. History does repeat.

Despite their lack of faith, HaShem then sent the Essene Master Yochanan the Immerser to call the Jews to repentance, but again the elders refused (even though throngs of Jews flocked to the Essene master to receive immersion in the Bethany mikvah). HaShem next sent the Rabbinic Master, our Rebbe, Y'shua ben Yosef to call the people to teshuva (repentance). Still the Rabbinic leadership, fearing the increasing despotism of Rome and the possible loss of their positions, refused to place their faith in HaShem alone and accept His anointed. Both Yochanan and Y'shua were executed.

After this we have this from Rav Paul as the Kingdom offer to that generation was rescinded:

Acts 13:44 The next Shabbat, nearly the whole city gathered together to hear the message about the Lord;
45 but when the Jews who had not believed [in Rebbe Y'shua's message] saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and spoke up against what Sha'ul [i.e. Rav Paul] was saying and insulted him.
46 However, Sha'ul and Bar-Nabba [i.e. Rav Barnabas] answered boldly: "It was necessary that God's word be spoken first to you. But since you are rejecting it and are judging yourselves unworthy of eternal life - why, we're turning to the Goyim!
47 For that is what ADONAI has ordered us to do: 'I have set you as a light for the Goyim, to be for deliverance to the ends of the earth.'"

Because the elders of Israel, from the Maccabees to those who rejected the offer through Rav Paul and the other talmidim of Rebbe Y'shua, refused the Kingdom, the "stump of the tree of Israel" remained banded and would not be allowed to grow again until the End of Days.

The Band is Removed

Then in 1948 (or arguably 1967) the essential End Time prophecy was fulfilled. The bands restraining the Tree of Israel were removed by the Will of HaShem and the Tree of Israel again began to sprout!

Knowledgeable prophecy students debate whether the "bands" were technically removed with Israeli statehood in 1948 or with the return of Holy Jerusalem to Jewish hands. This question is more than academic however we wont go into it here. For our present purposes, the bands have now been removed.

Prior to this unbanding those who correctly understood the prophecies knew the End Times had not yet arrived despite what some people have hoped in every generation. Rav Paul warned his readers not believe rumors that the day of redemption has arrived. That day would not and could not come until Israel has been reborn and the Jews have returned to Jerusalem:

II Thessalonians 2:1 But in connection with the coming of our master Yeshua the Anointed and our gathering together to meet him [i.e. in restored Y'rushalayim], we ask you, brothers,
2;2 not to be easily shaken in your thinking or anxious because of a spirit or a spoken message or a letter supposedly from us claiming that the Day of the Lord has already come....
This Rav Paul writes referencing the following:
Isaiah 51:11 Those ransomed by ADONAI will return and come with singing to Tziyon [Zion]; on their heads will be everlasting joy. They will acquire gladness and joy, while sorrow and sighing will flee.
So from Rav Paul's informed perspective, having lost hope that the Kingdom might be restored in their generation (Acts 13:44), several things had to happen before haMoshiach would return and establish the global theocracy. Chief among these was that Israel and the Temple would fall and be destroyed. The they would be restored as our Rebbe foretold at Matthew 23:36 through chapter 24. As for when these real world events would happen Rav Paul could not say. Rebbe Y'shua likewise acknowledged that he didn't know when these event would happen (Mark 13:32). The Daniel chapter 4 prophecy is of pivotal importance therefore. Until the "bands" were removed from the Tree of Israel the kingdom could not possibly be reborn.

Today Israel again exists but in its infancy. Current Israel only controls a tiny fraction of the land granted her by HaShem:

As you can see, only a small percentage of biblical Eretz Y'israel is under Israeli control today. Were all of the divinely decreed land in their possession still Israel would be quite small. Yet despite the vast tracts of land controlled by the enemies of Israel, still the world continues to accuse this tiny nation of threatening their security. Still the nations of the earth continue working for their destruction! Why are the leaders of this world so intent on the destruction of Israel? In a word: PROPHECY!

Tehillim - Psalms - Chapter 2

1. Why have nations gathered and [why do] kingdoms think vain things?
2. Kings of the land stand up, and nobles take counsel together against Adonai and against His anointed? [i.e. against haMoshiach who as "the son of David" protects the Elect at this critical hour, this according to the Mishna, Ber. 7b]
3. "Let us [i.e. People Israel] break their bands and cast off their cords from us."
4. He Who dwells in Heaven laughs; Adonai mocks them.
5. Then He speaks to them in His wrath; and He frightens them with His sore displeasure.
6. "But I have enthroned My king on Zion, My holy mount" [see reference to haMoshiach at Psalm 110].
7. I will tell of the decree; Adonai said to me [i.e. to David who here is speaking as prophet awaiting his descendent, haMoshiach. Thus the reference here is the "Suffering Servant," People Israel who awaits the coming haMoshiach], "You are My son; this day have I begotten you [i.e. on this prophetic day HaShem will restore His people fully, giving them their inheritance].
8. Request of Me, and I will make nations your inheritance, and the ends of the earth your possession.
9. You shall break them with an iron rod; like a potter's vessel you shall shatter them."
10. And now, [you] kings, be wise; be admonished, [you] judges of the earth [note that although David references People as a single person, he now refers to them in plural, individual sense].
11. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with quaking.
12. Arm yourselves with purity lest He [i.e. haMoshiach who has come to deliver them] become angry and you perish in the way, for in a moment His wrath will be kindled; the praises of all who take refuge in Him.

This is a very important prophecy that must be read carefully. HaMoshiach is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. As People Israel in desperation call out to HaShem (as Rambam reveals they will in his signs of the coming of haMoshiach), HaShem will hear their cries. Navi John here at Revelation 12:2 tells us that Israel will give birth to the Kingdom referenced in this prophecy. The events Israel will experience during this period will be as birthpangs (I Thessalonians 5:3).

Today Israel remains a democratic republic rather than the foretold theocratic kingdom. Today, despite the many devout people among the Orthodox and Conservative Movements, the Jewish people at large are still not ready to recieve the Kingdom. However as Rebbe Y'shua said:

Matthew 24:31 He [haMoshiach] will send out his messengers with a great sound of a shofar [trumpet], and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
24:32 "Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that the summer is near.
24:33 Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that it [i.e. the Kingdom] is near, even at the doors.
24:34 Most certainly I tell you, this generation [i.e. that witnesses these things] will not pass away, until all these things are accomplished.
As Rambam said:
His [the Messiah's] name will be great and fill the earth to its uttermost bounds. It will be a greater name than that of King Solomon and mightier. The nations will make peace with him and lands will obey him by reason of his great rectitude and the wonders that will come to light by his means. Any one that rises up against him God will destroy and make him fall into his hand. [Introduction to Helek]
And again in Laws of Repentance Maimonides adds:
Because the king who will arise from the seed of David will possess more wisdom than Solomon and will be a great prophet, approaching Moses, our teacher, he will teach the whole of the Jewish people and instruct them in the way of God; and all nations will come to hear him, as it is said, And at the end of days it shall come to pass that the Mount of the Lord's house shall be established as the top of the mountains [Micah 4:1; Isaiah 2:2]. [Mishneh Torah, Hilkhot Teshuvah 9:8-10]

The entire world is now witnessing the Tree of Israel putting forth her leaves in preparation for the coming of haMoshiach. This rebirth began in earnest in 1948 as the nation was reborn for the first time since circa 606 B.C.E. Navi Y'shua tells us that the generation that witnesses this event take place will be the one in which haMoshiach will gather all the Jews back to Israel, sound the Seventh Shofar (as we have discussed) and establish the Theocratic Kingdom. Revelation 12:2 records the birth of the Kingdom as the Woman Israel gives birth.

On November 2, 1917 the Balfour Declaration declared that Israel would be reborn.

On May 14, 1948 that intention became a reality and the Tree of Israel (Daniel 4:10) began putting forth its leaves.

From 1948 until 1967 West Jerusalem served as Israel's capital. Jerusalem had not yet been restored.

UN General Assembly Resolution 194 envisioned making Jerusalem an international city under their control. For this reason Tel Aviv remains the internationally recognized capital of Israel even though united Jerusalem is Israel's eternal capital and since 1967 has been legally in Jewish hands.

As a result of the Muslim instigated Six-Day War, in 1967 the whole of Jerusalem returned to Israeli control as HaShem performed literal, objective miracles to liberate the Holy City.

Because of a few specific prophecies regarding "Zion" some biblical scholars believe the 1967 date is more accurate for the unbanding of the Tree than the 1948 date. The debate centers on whether Mount Moriah and Jerusalem are the "Zion" in these verses, whether all of Eretz Israel is referenced or if perhaps the reference is to any land under Jewish control within the Promised land as the unbanding begins.

In any case, on June 27, 1967, the government of Levi Eshkol officially extended Israeli law and jurisdiction to East Jerusalem, united the City. Unfortunately in the name of peace the government of Israel foolishly ceded control of the Temple Mount compound to the Jordanian waqf, under the Jordanian Ministry of Religious Endowments. As result of this poor judgment Muslims are today busy desecrating the Holy Temple Mount and looking for hidden treasures including, they hope, the ark of the covenant. Like the Maccabees, the 1968 government of Israel ceded to their enemies what they ought not have hoping to appease their enemies. History repeats.

From modern Israel, the "woman" of verse 12:1, the "child," the theocratic kingdom will be born.

Next time we will continue with:

Revelation 12:2 She was with child. She cried out in pain, laboring to give birth.
