I have devoted most of my life to studying the world's religions. Along with other religions, I have delved deeply into Islam. As with other religions, I have discovered much about Islam that I consider positive. There are however certain aspects of Islam that are deeply troubling to me, moreso than any other religion. What must be remembered however is that as a group, Muslims tend to be much more literal minded and more devoted to their religion and religious texts that most other religionists. As a result, what often looks wrong to others is the literal observance of their faith and texts. This creates a great divide between Muslims and others, between Sharia and freedom based cultutes. The vast majority of Muslims are good peole with the same basic desires as anyone else. As with other religionists, the more fundamentalist minded give the religion a bad reputation (from a Western perspectve). In this section we'll take an honest look atthe deen. As always, I invite your comments, questions, and corrections on the topics covered here.
